Drei schottische Künstler*innen greifen die Traditionen ihrer Kindheit wieder auf und interpretieren sie neu. Gemeinsam setzen sie sich mit Stolz und Scham, Resilienz und Brüchen sowie der Schönheit und Brutalität der Zugehörigkeit auseinander. «not for glory» ist eine rastlose, unerbittliche und rebellische Entwirrung traditioneller Tanz- und Musikformen – ein Tanztheaterstück, wo Virtuosität auf Verletzlichkeit trifft und kulturelles Erbe mit Widerstand kollidiert. Keine radikale Highland-Dance-Show, keine Neuinterpretation von Irish Dance und kein experimenteller Dudelsackwettbewerb. Stattdessen treffen Backbeats auf High Cuts und Ritual auf Rebellion – roh, rhythmisch und trotzig. «not for glory» belebt Traditionen mit Respekt und Widerstandskraft wieder, seziert kulturelles Erbe und tanzt Solidarität. Wenn nicht für Ruhm – wofür dann?

Three Scottish-born artists reclaim and reimagine the traditions they grew up in. Together, they confront pride and shame, resilience and rupture, the beauty and brutality of belonging. «not for glory» is a restless unravelling of traditional dance and music — a dance-theatre gig where virtuosity meets vulnerability, and heritage collides with resistance. It’s not a radical Highland Dance show, not a reinvented Irish dance display, nor an experimental bagpiping competition. Instead, it’s a raw, rhythmic, and defiant collision of movement, sound, and spirit — where backbeats meet high cuts, and ritual meets rebellion. «not for glory» resuscitates tradition with respect and resilience, dissects heritage, and dances solidarity. If not for glory — then for what?
