Es gibt Beziehungen, die enden müssen. Zu einem Menschen. Zu einer Vorstellung von Liebe. Zu einem politischen System. Zur Sehnsucht nach einer Vergangenheit, die es so nie gegeben hat.

«HARD_BREAK </3» ist eine Performance über das Schlussmachen. Zwischen Karaoke-Bühne, Techno-Club und Rage Room wird Breakup zum kollektiven Ritual und zur choreografischen Praxis. Ausgangspunkt ist die romantische Trennung: eine universelle Erfahrung, die schmerzhaft, grotesk und befreiend zugleich sein kann. Von dort aus weitet sich der Blick auf den Bruch mit toxischen Beziehungsmustern, neoliberalen Selbstoptimierungsimperativen und reaktionären Weltbildern. In einer Zeit, in der autoritäre Sehnsüchte weltweit an Einfluss gewinnen, fragt «HARD_BREAK </3»: Woran halten wir fest, obwohl es uns längst schadet? Und was könnte entstehen, wenn wir endlich den Mut hätten, loszulassen?

Some relationships need to end. With a person. With an idea of love. With a political system. With the longing for a past that never really existed.

HARD_BREAK </3 is a performance about breaking up. Somewhere between a karaoke stage, a techno club and a rage room, breakup becomes a collective ritual and a choreographic practice. It begins with romantic separation: a universal experience that can be painful, absurd and deeply liberating. From there, the performance expands into a wider exploration of breaking away from toxic relationship patterns, neoliberal ideals of self-optimization and reactionary worldviews. At a time when authoritarian longings are gaining momentum across the globe, HARD_BREAK </3 asks: What are we still holding on to, even though it is hurting us? And what might become possible if we finally found the courage to let go?
